ChatEZ with Twitch
Questions about using ChatEZ with Twitch. For general questions, see the ChatEZ tab.
Is ChatEZ made by Twitch?
No. ChatEZ works with Twitch through Twitch’s official APIs, but it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Twitch.
How do I sign in with Twitch?
ChatEZ opens Twitch’s own login page. You approve the permissions there, and ChatEZ never sees your Twitch password.
What do I need to use moderator actions?
Your account needs to be a moderator in that channel, and ChatEZ needs the matching Twitch permissions, which you approve when you sign in.
Can it show Twitch chat from before I opened it?
No. Twitch does not provide past chat history, so ChatEZ shows messages from the moment it connects.
Which Twitch features does it show?
Live chat, replies, badges, name colours, Twitch emotes, Cheermotes, system messages such as subscriptions and watch streaks, and shared-chat messages with their source channel.
Does it show Channel Points redemptions?
Yes, where the broadcaster has granted the permission that allows it.
Do 7TV, BTTV and FFZ emotes work?
Yes. 7TV emotes update live, and the public BTTV and FFZ catalogues are loaded for each channel.
