Privacy policy

The short version

ChatEZ is built to keep your data on your own computer. We do not sell or share data, we do not run ads, and the website has no analytics or tracking.

The ChatEZ app

• Signing in: you log in through the streaming platform's own page (today, Twitch). ChatEZ receives an access token with the permissions you approve, stored on your computer.
• Chat and recording: chat is shown live. Recording is opt-in and per channel: only if you turn it on for a channel is the chat ChatEZ observes saved, locally on your computer.
• Watch lists and notes: stored on your computer.
• Third-party services: the app connects to the streaming platforms you use and to 7TV, BTTV and FFZ to load chat, emotes and badges. Those services have their own privacy policies.

This website

ChatEZ.app uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers, and the fonts are served from this site. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address and pages requested) to deliver and protect the site.

Forms on this website

The forms are handled entirely on Cloudflare. Nothing you send is stored in a database or shared with anyone else.

• Feedback: your report (and screenshot, if you add one) is emailed to the ChatEZ team. Your email address is optional and only used to reply about that report. It is never added to a mailing list, and the email is deleted when the report is closed.
• Tool suggestions: emailed to the team. No email address is asked for.
• Spam protection: forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-focused check that a real person is sending the form, instead of a puzzle.
• Mailing list and register interest: not open yet. When they open, joining will need an unticked box you choose to tick and a confirmation email. Every email will have an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address. Register-interest addresses get one email when that platform arrives and are then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it at any time. For marketing email we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw whenever you like.
